I am using Windows 2000 Professional. The problem is, everytime I start my PC before 
I can log in, the screen "Preparing Network Connections..." appears for about 1-2 
minutes and its taking my valuable PC time. 

How can I stop it? What setting should I change? Please help.

Not all lan cards are made the same.. You may want to install a new one/type.. It's one of the 1st.items windows will install and must be right from the get go...or to say easy for windows to find and install../ setup... ============
