internet explorer 6 problem

It freezes whenever I open the Internet Explorer and when I click the Windows Update
(which uses Internet Explorer). I already uninstalled and reinstalled IE using the
Control Panel Add/Remove Windows components, three times. Firefox is working though.
I need IE for some websites that only want it to be the browser. I ran Trend Micro,
AVG, Spybot S & D. Nothing. Other than a reformat or OS reinstallation, is there
something you can suggest?

BTW, do you know how can I use Windows Update without using IE? Like a website to
download the updates using Firefox. Thanks.

What web site will not take FireFox as your browser ?,, Have you updated the FireFox ? The update for Windows/IE needs to read the info on the machine to see what you need for a update but it must be running to do so.

Are you a wood worker ?,if so Click Here

I do run into some of the Web sites with Media content that won't work with Firefox. Example is ABC.com, the Full episode Player, and Yahoo.com the Internet Radio seems to only work with IE. Mostly how I handle it is just boycott the sites, and i send them a email about how I don't use IE, so can they help Me out. I actually got responses back form both ABC, and Yahoo, to paraphrase "They don't care."
