I have windows 2000, DSL with AT&T and my computer is 9 yrs old. My browser is Yahoo and it takes minutes to open, as does my address book, any highlighted messages in my e-mails, but mot attachements, they open fast. I have checked with AT&T and was taken throgh steps and my speed is fine. I have run a virus check of my computer with symantec antivirus. I also have a pop up that says I am low on virtual memory and windows is increasing the size. Any sites to go to for a free check of my system to see why my browser is so slow? This just started about a week ago. Thank you.

When was the last time you cleaned out the temp.files for your browser ? or to say did a bit of house keeping on your PC. Here's a free program that will give you and hand with that job.. Plus run CCleaner CCleaner 1.22.142 From: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4191 CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimisation tool. That removes unused and temporary files from your system - allowing it to run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space. The best part is that it's fast! (normally taking less that a second to run) and Free. NOTE *** about CCleaner Take care with this program, computers are not smart they only do what you ask them to do no more no less. Read, read, read and then uncheck the item(s) that you are not sure about. It will remove what you have checked... ----------------- Plus this one Windows CleanUp http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/index.html http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/screenshots.html http://www.stevengould.org/downloads/cleanup/CleanUp40.zip Have a good one.
