Cannot Delete File or folder; ntuser.dat

When I click on the Windows 2000 tray icon to open Outlook Express 6, I get a screen
that says:
Error Deleting File or Folder.
Cannot delete ntuser.dat: There has been a sharing violation.
[There is an OK button at the bottom]
There is no other copy of Outlook Express in use.
When I click OK, Outlook Express opens.
What do I do to cure this?
Many thanks.

If you don't know what it is, leave it alone!
You can search the Microsoft site and find that NTUser.dat is a system file
that must be present for a user account to function.
The error you have is that something is trying to delete it. That is the error.
I suggest you creatae and new user account and configure you e-mail in the new user
account. The is a quick work-around until you find out what is trying to modify the
NTUser file.

I did as I think you suggested. I established a new email account. It has the same
username and specifications as the old one.
Then I deleted the old one.
There is now only the new email account.
However, that error screen "Cannot Delete File or folder; ntuser.dat" still appears.
Even Restarting the computer twice didn't help.
What should I try now to eliminate this error screen?
