Seems like I spend more time here fixing problems than I do actually using my computer

Reinstalling win 2000 on a Toshiba Tecra M1 laptop. Using an Oem disk but I have the Product key number that came with the computer. But Im missing all the drivers for sound, lan, video etc. Cant get to the internet with this computer so I might use Win update. Using the Toshiba website it gives me 102 possible drivers for the Tecra M1 laptop. In device mgr I have the following items with a yellow ? next to them. These are the problem items as shown. Base System Device Ethernet controller network controller PCI device Universal serial bus (usb) controler Unkown device Video controler (VGA compatible) I did manage to find a sound driver for which there only were 2 choices. Can some one help me out here???? Thanx in advance for any and all help.

Feels good to fix others problems.

Since we don't have your machine to work on, we can't do anything that you can't
do yourself unfortunately. We would just send you to Toshiba's website, where you
can find the drivers. We won't know which ones will work if they haven't listed
them by model etc. Sounds like Toshiba has some work to do to make is easier for
customers to find the driver files for their machines. If you can't determine which
files you need, then you should probably contact them for assistance.. They would
know better then we would..

Thats just it , they do list these 102 files specificaly for the Tecra M1 laptop for all the different versions of windows. But there are still multiples shown for example Lan there are at least 6 driver files shown for win 2000 . So far Ive managed to get the sound, video drivers to install by trial and error. But the other items I know its going to take a long time trial and error. I can I find someone who may have the same machine that might be able to help me? Gotta get them by the end of the weekend.

Feels good to fix others problems.

Get the free software below, it will tell you what hardware you have on the machine it will also give you a download spot on the net to get them from. aida32 download From: This is the one I like best (ESI) ,it will show your software/cd lic.numbers for software you have installed on the machine, and you can copy it and print it out for safe keeping. Aida32 - Enterprise System Information 3.93 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download183.html Size: 3.1Mb Personal System Information 3.93 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html Size: 2.9 Mb unzip it to C:\Aida32 and then run the aida32.exe to run the program Or Start/Run C:\Aida32\aida32.exe -------------------------- Also drivers from: http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/ Support\Hcl.txt ---------------------------- Also this one http://driveragent.com/ ---------------------------- New ver. of aida32 called Everest Home Edition It has a installer and uninstaller with it.. But it's not as good as the ESI 3.93 from below: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 ------------------------ Plus you can use this tool to do it all for you. It's not Free but it works great. http://www.driverguidetoolkit.com/
