Many files in Word are read only,, you didn't say what the file name is,,,,,is it
by chance a dot file ?
Some doc files have a pass word or a protection tag and you can only copy them in
safe mode..windows may be using the file at the time you are trying to copy them
over.
Try this make a new folder and copy the files over in safemode, then remove the tags
then copy them to your usb device after you restart the machine..
