The Future for W2K?

For awhile I saw product for W2k or Xp then W2k, Xp and Vista. But now, is W2k being dropped fron System lists, although nothing may have changed? i.e will still run in W2k? Apart from Firewall and some Bells and Whistles, not sure how different Xp is ?? I did look for a fresh driver for a very old P/Bell scanner only to find one for Xp which rejected W2k. Any ideas as to our future ----I like W2K!!

2k will last as long as the compatible Hardware will last. People still using old Windows 95 Computers.

In this falling economy they may be a business for getting used hardware that can run on the elder software.

The Computer itself is probably not in Danger as long as it is working, but I suppose things Like Printers, and Scanners which have become disposable are the Problem.

When I needed in new Printer awhile back, The local store didn't have any Cheap Printers that had Windows 98 Drivers. I could have found one online, or doing some running around I suppose, but I also have some XP Computers to Hook the Printer up to.

I just decided not having the Printer Work with my old Win ME Computer wasn't a big deal.

I quite enjoy using Windows 2000 on an athlon64 3200 with 1gB ram. I am impatient(I work with computers all the time) and dont like to wait! Eventually it will disappear like the rest. But I find it feature rich enough for me - while still fast. Il be using it a long time. USB,DVD it all works easily. As for Vista/Win 7- It doesnt interest me. W2k does just what I want. I defy the constant upgrades and consumerism!!
