Currently on 2000 pro SP4, have option buy sealed non oem pack, Xp Pro SP2 for about $30. Will examine first. Could any one who moved from 2000 tell me the benefits they experienced? I also wonder what applications software used on 2000 may not run? eg Office 2000, Printer , Scanner, USB modem, ------- Never been sure how close to 2000, Xp was in design?

Office 2000 will work fine. Most programs are designed for Windows 2000 SP4 and XP. Windows 2000 is NT version 5.0 and XP is NT version 5.1. Also, most drivers are designed for Windows 2000 and XP. I had an HP LaserJet 5si that didn't have XP drivers, and the Windows 2000 drivers worked.
