Convincing Setup to look at a CD or Hdd folder for SATA drivers

Is there some simple way to force Windows2000's setup to use something other than a floppy for this purpose? I have not been using floppies in new systems for several years, but as these SATA drives become more and more common, the annoyance of having to find a floppy drive and attach it long enough to load the drivers is aggravating.

Surely there's an entry in an INF file that can be altered?

What do the administrators of businesses with hundreds or thousands of PCs being upgraded from IDE to SATA do about this problem? Surely they also have been skipping floppy drives! (While the subject is open, does W2K's younger brother, XP, have a similar, or a less-difficult way to handle the same thing?)

.

I searched using "slipstream sata drivers". These are xp related, but very similar
to 2k:

Hi Kiwi Floppy is a BIOS Item or to say controlled by a chip. don't for get the SATA drives came out after win2000. SO to say it would be tricky to get around both errors.. by playing with the int or the inf files,no DOS the norm in win2k .you may want to take a look at the win.ini and the system.ini files you may find a way to get it to load up.. under the wow command..see the help file for the wow commands..... === ==========
