share folders without internet

i have a pc with two w2k installations. one is for normal work and internet; one
is for doing autocad work without internet, virus scanners, etc. what i would like
to do is to connect with the other pc's in my home wireless network from the second
installation, without leaving this computer open to the internet. this way the other
family members could also use the printer connected to this pc while i am using the
second w2k installation. is there a way to open up this pc to the home network but
not to the internet?

Many ways to get around it but the easy way is to pickup a cable and hook it up from
computer to computer without going into the network.
The easy one is called a Laplink cable..from just about any computer supply store
outlet.

i guess i'll go with the hard way, because one computer is in the attic, and one
is in the living room. just don't know what the hard way is.

This depends very much on what privileges (or knowledge) the other users of the PC
have.
The simplest and kludgiest way way would be to go to Internet Options > Connections
> LAN Settings, and put in a Proxy of 127.0.0.1 (the local computer). This wil prevent
all acess to the Internet, without disturbing your local network.
However, it is of course easy to override if the other users have the privilege to
do it...
In that case it would be something to do at the modem, but I would not recommend
that...
