IBM T23 Win 2K pro i was trying to install a lynksys wireless PC card...the installation seem to go ok (i.e., no error messages flashed). at the end it tells me that some file is missing and reload. when i try to reload it say the program is already loaded when i try to remove it, it says "can't find some "un-install" file so cannot remove the program. for now i got around by loaing/installing a wirless USB device to go on the net. is there a way to install the program without going through the registry line-by-line? thanks

I see you did not get a quick answer. The best choice, IMO, is to just be happy with what you have done. You got a working system with some files you do not need and a piece of hardware you can not use. But you have a working system.

The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility may do what you want.

At this point common sense dictates that you check Microsoft's explanation and download from there. But their explanation runs a couple brief sentences and they have reengineered their support and download sites to give the runaround -- and ads for Bing!

The first 2 links above give a discussion of the product as well.

Also check LinkSys support:
