we hadn't updated our windows server 2000 for a long time but recently i clicked
on update and it did update something (i didnt see what) and asked for restart so
i did. now i cant remote desktop to that server anymore.
before that i could and now i cant
things i know about our server:
1:its windows 2000 server
2:i could remote desktop to it before from anywhere in the world
3:i can ping it now and when i nmap port 3389 it says that its open
4:there is no firewall running
5:when i try to remote from my home to it it says "connection lost due to network
problem" and says it fast.when i was able to remote to it (before applying updates)
it took a while to actually connect to it (i have a slow connection at home)
6:its not a network problem because i am able to connect to other computers on the
same lan,and i was able to remote to server before updating it
7: its a active directory server too(used for authorizing user to log in in computers
on same LAN) (it hold user names too)

It was probably the update that caused the change.

You should be able to uninstall the update. To find the update you need to go to
winnit. But you will have to make sure all hidden file files are shown. Then find
the one that was done on the 12th of this month. These are files which can uninstall
most updates.
