Do your speakers work? If so, unplug those and plug in the correct plug there. The microphone plug goes in the one marked MIC. Now, if you have a headset with only one plug on the end of it, good luck.....that's for your cell phone, not your computer.

Thank you for responding so quickly. But alas, that was not the problem. The problem is that I can not hear the telephone ring and whether somebody picks up the horn. If you know a solution for that... You know my email. Thanks whatever! See you.

Try running Sound Recorder (Start, Programs, Accssories, Sound Recorder. Run 2 copies of it at once. Play something on one while trying to record into the other. If you can, things should work, if not, you need a sound card that supports duplex communication. Older cards would only work one way at a time, and if you're going to use it for telephony, you have to have a duplex card.

What you tell me is almost what I need to hear. Allas when I record with the sound recorder (it works - I can hear and see it record) I can not play it back - no sound. Do not know way. But somehow that is related to my problems with the headphone. Hey! Thanks for responding.

Unfortunatly you need a soundcard that supports full duplex (record and play at the same time)
