Try right clicking on your dialup icon and go into it's properties and search
through them for any settings regarding this. I haven't used dialup on my win2k
machine so I can't verify there is or where to look, but that's where I'd look.

I, UNFORtunatly, am also in the dial up dungeon with my win2k machine and left for
skewl the other day and forgot to log off left the dial up on for 12 hours! i wish
the pc would have logged me off after 30min. so it must be a setting youve misconfigured
by accident. or not.
