Windows Firewall stopping me from connecting to domain

Hi All, I hope someone can help me with this as this is really getting annoying. I have recently found that Windows Firewall was stopping me from connecting my XP SP2 laptop from connecting to my newly created Server 2003 domain. I disabled the Windows Firewall which enabled me to connect to my domain, but I don't want to leave my Server 2003 box vulnerable by disabling Windows Firewall. Does anyone know how I can configure an exception within Windows Firewall which would allow me to connect to my domain? Any help would be much appreciated.
