Upgrade build on Enterprise?

Hello,
I am going to be straight up honest with everyone here. Couple of months ago I bought
a web server. I installed Windows 2003 Enterprise Build 3790, a pirated version.
Yes it was pirated and I feel guilty now. I want to be legitimate and buy the LEGAL
LICENSE.
If I buy the LEGAL copy and license of Enterprise, will I be able to upgrade normally
and enter the license key with no problem?
Will the server face any problems?
I am afraid it's going to delete and destroy my file. OR it will not work.
