Backup Utility 2003 Multiple Tapes Errors

We are running Server 2k3 and using a 4mm dat tape w/backup utility, when it calls
for the second tape, it seems like it only gives you a very short period to insert
the tape else it blows off and you have to start over again on tape ONE. What gives??
Is there something that can be set to correct this problem? It is driving me crazy
having to sit close by and monitor the screen till the second tape is inserted, along
with not being able to schedule backups.
