Hi. You are not alone. I am having exactly the same problem with a 2003 server Domain
with about 20 clients, I can get you part way to solving the problem but its not
a cure. Instead of users loging onto the domain have them logon using Local client
accounts with the same User password as set on AD. It works for me, am still in the
process of finding out what is the real cause but it looks like a Group policy thing
for Server/client auto updates as all svchost tasks go skyward at approx same time...
