Ok, first the 'net use'. Proper syntax is as follows: net use x: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\SharedFolder
Where "X" is the drive letter you're creating (and it can be X) You have to share
a folder first and whichever PC you're connecting from (in a workgroup environment)
must have an account on the target and be given access to the share. In a domain
environment, the account is already created but you still must give the user accont
access to the share. Once you've mapped the drive, you can then access it in Windows
Explorer. I'm not sure about sending a message to yourself using 'localhost'.
I've never tried that. There is a lot of more detailed info on both commands available
in the Windows Help Files as well as online. You might want to try using google
to get more in-depth info on syntax and then start testing. I highly recommend
you use google or windows help to get more detailed explanations of the commands.
The "net use /?" isn't very detailed. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the
first place.
