Hello, I have set up a DNS server on my ML370 G2 server. I want to configure my home network so that my Desktop PC goes through the DNS server on my ML370 server machine. However, I’m a little confused. When I select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and click ‘Properties’, I have the following settings: Use the following IP address: IP address: 10.1.1.8 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 10.1.1.1 Use the following DNS server addresses: Preferred DNS server: 127.0.0.1 When I click on ‘properties’ for the DNS server that I set up earlier, I get the following: Under the ‘Interfaces’ tab: The ‘All IP addresses’ radio button is selected, and the IP address ’10.1.1.8’ is entered. Under the ‘Forwarders’ tab: DNS domain: All other DNS domains Selected domain’s forwarder IP address list 203.0.178. 182 (which is the DNS IP address for my ISP) My questions are: Should my ‘Preferred DNS server IP address on my ML370 be 127.0.0.1? why or why not? Secondly, what do I put as the ‘Preferred DNS Server’ IP address on the Desktop PC? Thanks in advance,
