Make sure the RP service and the RPC locater service are set to auto and running 
on the client. Check the event logs on both server and client to see if there are 
event errors relating to the problem. 

Try making his account a member of the local admin group on his client computer and 
try to map the drive.

Check the DNS server settings on the client.
