I was thinking about that and I am pretty sure that would work. But lets say that
our local DC crashes and it's down for the count. Would the start menus try to pull
from another DFS share from another site still? Or since I have contoso.com in the
HOSTS file pointing to our own DC would the start menus not pull up any longer?
Here is another question.
What if I put two HOSTS entries for contoso.com in the HOSTS file for redundancy?
So for example:
10.x.x.x contoso.com <---Our local DC IP address
12.x.x.x contoso.com <---Dallas's local DC IP address
If it 10.X.X.X doesn't work...then it goes to 12.X.X.X? Or is the HOSTS file smart
enough to do that?
