Damn. Well, I could do that test and see what happens. I did a similar test as well. I setup a few start menu redirection folders onto our local file server completely bypassing the DFS garbage and it seems to be working really well. Problem with that though if the file server goes down, then those start menus go down with it as well.

So it could be a DNS issue then. It would make sense!
