This is part of the auto formatting feature of Word. You can click on tools -> autoformat options Click the 'Autoformat as you type' tab. Uncheck options in there to fix your problem. I believe the one you need to uncheck is 'Set left and first indent with tabs and backspaces' Annoying, I know.. I just had to go in and figure this out the other day. I was sick of it. By the way, this is a very general question and I think it is better suited in the windows XP forum. It really doesn't pertain to server 2003.
