Win 2003 Server password

When browsing within IE7, say, to do windows updates, I get an annoying popup that allows me to add a website to my 'trusted sites'. Windows Update would be ideally already in the trusted websites by default. The problem is that if i try to add a website that does not start with https (i.e. that is a normal http website that I want to allow), an error pops up disallowing me to resume. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I was going to uninstall IE7 and see what happens with IE6....

Jon
