File name changing in explorer Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 10:33 pm Windows Server 2003 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by FZim (2 messages posted) On Server 2003 occasionally some files will rename themselves, and I am not sure what is going on. Ex: User: Admin group Copied an excel file to the server. File name ForMort_Tarrant_200904upd.xls in Excel 2003 format. In explorer it is shown as _FZimArch with no extension, while my settings are set to show extensions of known and unknown file types. Right-click -> File properties shows the original file name. Refreshing/Restarting the browser does not make a difference. I tried searching this forum and google for something about this, but without any luck. Would be happy to have any info on what causes this. Thanks!
