I have some computers outside the office getting connected to the 2003 windows server, some of them use windows xp and some use windows 98. They are using a dos program that looks for the lpt1 printer port in order to print. I have been able to map this port remotely by using net use lpt1: \\computername\printer and the remote computers print, but the server crashed once and now if a computer maps the lpt1 port it will print to its printer, then a second computer will also map the lpt1 port it will print to its printer, but the first computer will begin printer to the printer of the second computer. Can someone help me.
