I have a w2k3 enterprise server with SP1, MSSQL, CF/MX PERL and PHP. I removed 9GB of movies from a user directory using rdesktop and the next morning the taskbar and desktop icons were no longer there. Tried ctrl+alt+del and tried to run taskman with no luck. I got the same results booting up in safe mode. Windows key and ctrl+esc yielded nothing. I am going to try a repair from the install CD in the morning but I am hoping I hear some kind of success story with a how to before I get started.
