Home network problems

When I try to access mshome I get the "mshome is not accessable" etc. etc. I've been
trying to get the network to run with no success. Since I've been doing things to
it without really knowing what I'm doing, I'm sure I've got it messed up and need
to remove it and start from scratch. Can you folks lead me to a site that will tell
me (in elementary, maybe even pre kindergarten, terms) how to do this?
