Printer detection

I have installed a network printer to several XP based PC's but when I try to do the same with server 2003, it will not autorun the installation CD and doesn't seem to have the ability to install through Printer Wizard. Any suggestions???

A network printer which I have loaded on to several computers which run XP. When I try to do the same on the server (2003) it will not autorun the CD and pirnter wizard does not seem to have the ability to find a computer which is hooked up via ethernet

Hi. First, depends how the printer is connected, USB, LPT or direct to LAN. Secondly what is the make and model of the printer? I would have thought that the first place to install the printer drivers etc would have been the server, please describe your setup.

Toaster, the printer is connected via LAN. Canon laser printer-don't have model on me but new. I suspect that the reason that I cannot load drivers, etc is the anti-virus and firewall so I am in contact with the supplier. I'll let you know how I go.
