Service can't access mapped drive

Guys,
I have a weird problem, I have a service that can't access a network attached drive,
even though the rights of the service are set to the logged in user and same the
user rights to the mapped drive.
Might there be anything else (i.e. specific security policy) that would prevent the
service accessing the mapped drive?
Thanks
Jason

If you are not able to access the Mapped network drives then the problem is your
network cable.
I faced the same problem several times in my profession.
Re-connect the cable if the cable is bad then re-crimp it after that logg off and
log in it will show you the map network drives

Hi People,
I am facing a similar issue with accessing the mapped drive from a service running
on Win3K server. There is no issue with the nework cable. Infact the mapped drive
is on the same system.
Thanks,
Aditya

Aditya, Did you resolve the issue where a service couldn't see a mapped drive?
Thanks,
Mike

Had similar probelm mapping a folder as a network drive - could not write to it.
Used a bat file to substitute the folder as a drive ex: subst f: /d (disconnect
desired drive letter) then subst f: c:\foldername. This also keeps the folder/drive
off the visable network and seems to be faster for high access.
