Server Service Cannot Start

Does anyone know why my server application just vanished?
My windows 2003 domain controller cannot share any files or other resources because
the server service is not running on it.
My Windows 2000 DC is running fine, and the Windows 2003 DC can access files on all
the other computers in the domain.
When I scan the list of applications in windows services, I cannot find the server
service. The "Share" menu item does not show up when I right-click on a folder or
drive. Furthermore, I cannot run any services that depend on the server service.
How can I get the server service back without a costly re-install?

Go to Start, Run, then type in Services.msc.
Scroll down to Server Service and make sure it's set to Automatic and running.
If not running, double click and use drop down to set to Automatic then click start
then O.K.
Good luck!
