Can anyone tell me how can i take backup of active directory so that after formatting the server, i can restore the huge number of users in minimum time? i am new to windows server 2003 environment. please elaborate a little..thank you

Hi To back up active directory you need to create system state backup. Check this post: http://windowshowtodo.com/2009/05/03/windows-server-2003-how-to-perform-system-state-backup-with-ntbackup-via-command-line/
