Sounds like you already did.
If you have a DNS entry that points subdomain.yourwebsite.com to your servers IP
address, then that is all you need to do. The cert will need to be purchased with
a CN of subdomain.yourwebsite.com.
You just don't have the SSL cert installed properly.

Well i purchased ssl for subdomain name.. eg. subdomain.mysite.com and i pointed
that subdomain name to my server IP. But every time when I type my subdomain name
to browser to openwebsite it goes back to IP address.. Is it something in server
that i need to change or? Like this
I type in browser Http://subdomain.mysite.com and site opens up but with http://ip
address ..

Thats interesting. Not a DNS issue.
Sounds like your webserver is redirecting your web traffic.
It sees your browser make a request to subdomain.mysite.com and redirects the browser
to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address. I think you may have been trying to get this to work
and somehow you turned that on.

It should work fine.. you create subdomain.. point it to your website and subdomain
would not change.. My site always change back to Ip address again..

Is this a public website? Do you want to post it so I can take a look and see what
it is doing?
