Does anyone know what bootwin.exe is? I have just started to see messages that it fails when the server is rebooted. Coincidentally, or otherwise, my FTP server has stopped working reliably at the same time! I did a search for bootwin.exe and while the program wasn't found a dump file called \bootwin.exe.20081206-235820-00.mdmp was located in a directory called c:\windows\pchealth\errorrep\userdumps (I'm searching for hidden files). Anyone with any ideas? If you google bootwin.exe you get hardly anything!

This may be a virus, especially if the file is found in system32.

Or if you have installed Aylott WinUtils , one utility has this name ( size will
be 64k )

I'm getting the same message and a virus scan shows nothing out of the ordinary. Did you find out what this was?
