Hello Fellow Windows users,
Normally, you can find me in the Windows 95 section, but right now, I have a question
for the Windows 7 gang that I can't answer myself.
My friend is building his own "supercomputer" if you will. He has bought a new model
motherboard, cards and such but there is one thing he wants to do.
He wants to be able to allow the computer to accept every type of media that has
been made for comptuers. (atleast within the past twenty years). This means he wants
to not only connect the standard DVD/CD-WR, 3 1/2 floppy drives, but also a wopping
5 1/4 floppy drive, Zip drive, and also a grand old Tape drive.
Is Windows 7 (or for now, Windows XP for that matter), able to handle those classic
types of drives? (Tape, 5 1/4, and Tape).
He's not connected to the internet right now so he can't ask himself. I would normally
be able to answer his question...but I have no idea how far back Windows 7 will detect
concerning drives. I can't even answer that for Windows XP.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Oh, and if you are one of those people asking "Why would he want to connect a 5 1/4
floppy or tape drive anyway?". His response is: Why not?
Again- He wants his computer to be able to accept all kinds of media--in my personal
opinion, I think that's kinda cool.
So thanks for the help. :-)
Happy Computing,
Greg
