If you want proper 2-pane file management there are lots of good 3rd party applications out there, some free. As for getting to your commonly used locations more easily, that's what the "Places bar" is for - you can customise it to your taste. Office products aren't anything to do with W7 really. And finally, as Rich has implied, this isn't a Microsoft forum - there's no hot-line to God here (sadly).
