Since you are new to 7 (which is Vista Second Edition, BTW), you probably don't understand
just how BIG a mistake you are making by turning off User Account Control.
I was at a Microsoft/AMD event last week and one of the presentations was on the
under-the-hood features of 7. Of course one of the main topics was UAC, because
UAC in Vista was the most significant and effective new security feature, and UAC
is tweaked in 7 to be just as effective but a little more user friendly.
The presenter said that according to MS's internal studies, UAC is the overwhelming
reason that Vista as an OS suffers from 70% fewer malware infections than does XP.
