It may not be malware- I had the same problem with a guy I set up his HP OEM pc.
If you are trying to start it up from the email directly, try downloading the
file to documents folder and then running it. The Live Mail usually will not run
directly as a matter of email attachment safety ( I had the same thing happen on
his PC with .pps /slide show file)
If you want to run it from email you need to download & install the PowerPoint
viewer and associate it, or you need to manually open it up (with " Open with..
choose program " command and associate by actually navigating to the Office (if it's
installed obviously) and find the actual power Point or viewer program to associate
it.
It was frustrating for me to figure that one out as the viewer program did not
show up in the actual " choose program type" to associate it with.
nor did it not give me a choice when going to Folder Options & selecting it from
the bulging list of file extensions.
Yes sir, Microsoft made it difficult to figure out.
