If it's not being recognised before the boot.ini/OS is kicking in then It's probably
a BIOS problem. If you can access the BIOS you could try resetting it to defaults,
if you can't there should be a MOBO jumper near the battery that will allow you clear
the CMOS. If you're unsure about this consult your MOBO manual or try and find a
techy friend.
Just a thought if your keyboard is USB then make sure that the BIOS USB settings
have not been disabled.
