Web Pages are Narrow

I upgraded to Win 7 and have noticed that every webpage I go to, the page is in the
center of the screen with large empty spaces on both sides. This happens with the
latest Firefox as well as IE8.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a Widescreen monitor, then you should use a Widescreen resolution

I have a Dell 24" monitor and all of the resolutions do not resolve the issue.

I just wanted to clarify a point, the browser window fills the entire screen but
the web page content is down the middle of the browser window. It does not fill the
browser window.

With a 24 inch monitor (1600 x 1200) most websites will have empty space on each
side, as they are fixed at 1024 wide.

Actually many sites are designed for an 800x600 screen, almost none for bigger than
1024 pixels wide. The advantage of your wide screen is that you can display two different
programs or pages in full side by side.
