At first it was fine but after 2 days sometimes (not all the time ) when I click on MY COMPUTER all I will see is the green progress bar at the top slowly filling takes about 2 minutes but then when it finishes it still does not show the hdd partitions. I then have to reboot and everything is fine. Most of the time it takes a fraction of a second to show the hdd partitions, which is the way it should be. I read about shell extensions but i downloaded a show all shell extensions program and see nothing remotely assoiated with MY COMPUTER...Any suggestions would be appreciated.....It is a brand new compaq presario came with win 7 dual processor and plently of memory.

Based on this post and the one above it complaining about Outlook not working, I'd
say before you go any further, run the HP/Compaq hardware testing suite that comes
with the computer.

If no hardware problems are identified, then I'd backup and run the Recovery to put
down a clean installation.

I've had to do that with more than one brand new computer that came out of the box
with goofy intermittent issues, on XP and Vista.
