That is not correct....Those *.old files are leftovers from long ago uninstalled programs. If you ever use Note Tab, Notepad or such, you'll notice that temp files with the extension *.bak are created at times. Allthough, I'm not sure why that's not always the case. Neither of those extensions are necessary to keep. I believe you're outnumbered on that one.
