The machine thinks it is a dual boot machine. The ntldr ( nt loader ) data file it
is looking for is a dos copy of the master boot record ( also called bootsect.dos
) that is stored in the root drive and is what winnt or win2k or winxp look for on
boot up in a multi boot machine. If in fact it is not a dual boot machine, and you
have 95B or above ( 98 included ) boot to the appropriate Start up disk for the
OS and at the a:\ prompt type:
fdisk c: /mbr and hit enter. This will write the correct master boot record in the
appropriate sectors of the hard drive. Remove the start up disk and reboot.
