Hi Keith.

Can you get into the laptop's BIOS?

You would then choose which drive to bootup from, for instance, Drive A if you want 
to bootup from the floppy drive.

Your floppy needs to be bootable. If you don't have a bootable floppy, you can download 
one from -

http://www.bootdisk.com/

Here is a website that lists many ways of getting into the BIOS on different computers
