First, I am going to assume the Win95 CD you copied the installation files from is
a "full" version, and not an upgrade. (I don't even know if they made an "upgrade"
version, but I'm not ruling that out. If you have one marked upgrade, then the following
tips might not work.)
Boot from your floppy, then at the DOS prompt type:
sys c: (press enter)
Remove the floppy, and restart the computer. It should now boot up in DOS (without
CD-ROM or floppy) and leave you at
C:>
Type DIR (enter). You should see only "COMMAND.COM" and the directory where you
copied the installation files, probably "WIN95 {dir}". If you have anything else
on the drive, please post what it is so we can sort it out.
If there's nothing else, navigate to the WIN95 directory, and type DIR (enter) again.
At the bottom of the files list, it should say "57 files, 2 dirs". (if you have the
Win95B version.)
Type "SETUP", press enter. Do not use OEMSETUP. If it hangs up again, please post
the exact error message.
Good luck.
