After screwing around w/ this tinybar/jetseeker BS for the better part of the last
two days, we found the solution. We found that some extra steps beyond those already
suggested are needed (or perhaps just our steps alone will suffice – hard to tell
since we were trying everything we could).
Begin by finding mshta.exe in the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager, and
kill it. Then, kill the file C:\systemsearch.hta, and any reference to it and/or
to “systemsearch” in your registry (or if you wish, look at the .hta file first in
wordpad, and you’ll see that it’s a script w/ text that matches up w/ the crap that
appears in the tinybar). You may also want to clear out your temporary internet files
and reset Web settings in IE to prevent re-infection. Good Luck!
