Is it a Windows password or a BIOS password or some third party software. 

Can she get to safe mode (press F8 right after turning on the computer)?  If so, 
there is a passwords properties section under the control pannel. 

Reformatting and reinstalling Windows will remove any password from anything besides 
BIOS.
