dial-up not working

I deleted files by mistake, managed to reinstall windows and restore everything but
now when I try to connect to the net, my modem makes conectionand verifies password
ok but then does nothing. When you open a window and type an address. You get an
error "could not find" . I think I now have an old version of something when I reinstalled
that is not working properly. HELP!!!!!!
