Make sure you have TCP/IP protocol installed. W95 doesn't install this by default. Add TCP/IP protocol, and after it's been added, remove any others. In TCP/IP, enable DNS, and set the properties to get the DNS server and IP addresses automatically.

You also should install Dial-Up Networking 1.3, Winsock2 update, and Y2K update to Winsock2 and DHCP.

File names, that you can download from Microsoft, are:

  • MSDUN13.EXE (install first)
  • MSNT128.EXE
  • W95WS2SETUP.EXE
  • Y2KVDHCP.EXE (install last)
